Promises made. Promises kept.
“I ran for State Representative to make sure my two young sons could grow up in the same Butler County we did: Where family values matter, hard work is rewarded, and the government that governs least governs best. That’s the kind of leadership I promised, and that’s what I work hard to deliver every day as your voice in Harrisburg.” -Brian Ellis

JOB GROWTH
As a small business owner, Brian Ellis knows firsthand that lower taxes are the key to job growth. For 10 years, he worked through his family business to bring over 60 new jobs to our area. Now Brian is fighting to attract more job-providers to Butler County by slashing taxes and rolling back burdensome regulations.
- Promises kept: Brian has co-sponsored and fought for the Keystone Manufacturing Initiative, a multi-pronged package of reforms to eliminate outdated red tape that keeps companies out of Pennsylvania. As a member of the House Commerce Committee, Brian is one of the first points of contact for any piece of business-related legislation.

TAXES
Brian’s record on taxes is simple: He has voted against every tax hike, every time. He signed a pre-election pledge to do so, and he’s honored it. Additionally, Brian is fighting to provide tax relief for working families, employers, and our seniors by eliminating school property taxes, fighting wasteful government spending, and ending the unfair inheritance tax.
- Promises kept: Brian has consistently voted to eliminate the school property tax and was one of the first voices to condemn the sham reforms promised by Gov. Rendell in his ill-fated casino program.

POLITICAL REFORM
Brian Ellis voted against the Harrisburg pay hike in 2005, he refused to accept an extra dime, and he was one of the first representatives to call for its repeal. Brian has supported legislation to end secretive voting procedures and to make sure that all legislation receives a fair, proper hearing.
- Promises kept: In addition supporting reform legislation, Brian is actively working to change the culture in Harrisburg by mentoring new House members. In just his second term, Brian was selected by his colleagues to serve as one of 10 deputy Republican Whips in the 203-member House.

SECOND AMENDMENT
Brian Ellis stood up to Gov. Rendell and his Philadelphia allies as they attemped to infringe on our Second Amendment Rights. Brian has consistently earned an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association.
- Promises kept: In 2007, Brian rallied his colleagues and constituents to help defeat House Bill 760, which would have required an annual per-gun licensing fee for all lawful firearms owners in Pennsylvania.
